Krynica-Zdrój, the heart of the Sądecki Beskids, is more than a popular spa town. In winter, it becomes a popular ski resort. Alpine and cross-country skiers and snowboarders can enjoy ski centres with perfectly prepared slopes and modern facilities, ski rentals, schools and many other attractions and amenities. But where exactly can you ski or snowboard in Krynica-Zdrój?

Henryk-Ski ski resort

Henryk-Ski ski resort is located in the heart of Krynica-Zdrój, next to Belmonte Hotel, on the slope of Mount Krzyżowa (812 m). The moderate slope makes the resort an ideal place to learn to ski, making it especially popular with families with children and beginner and intermediate skiers. It offers 8 downhill runs, two 4-person chairlifts (Henryk 1 and Henryk 2) and a conveyor lift.

The resort also has a ski rental and equipment storage, as well as free parking. Qualified instructors are available for beginner skiers and snowboarders at the on-site ski school. Gospoda u Krakowiaka is located at the bottom station, where you can recharge, warm up by the fireplace and enjoy delicious regional cuisine.

Słotwiny Arena

More experienced skiers are invited to Słotwiny Arena, located less than 4 km from Belmonte Hotel (under 10 minutes by car). Słotwiny Arena offers skiers and snowboarders:

  • 9 downhill runs of varying difficulty, suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers (the longest is 2000 m);
  • 3 lifts (a 6-person detachable chairlift at the main ski run, the 6-person detachable Słotwinka chairlift and a conveyor lift for beginners at the winter playground);
  • 3 snowparks of varying difficulty (S, M and L).

The resort’s modern chairlifts ensure high capacity, while wind and rain covers protect against adverse weather. All ski runs at Słotwiny Arena are snow-covered, groomed twice daily and some are floodlit, allowing evening skiing. What’s more, run no. 1 (difficult, for expert skiers) is FIS homologated.

The resort also has a rental shop, service centre, sports equipment storage and a ski and snowboard shop. During a break from skiing or after an active day on the slopes, recharge at Restauracja Widokowa and enjoy tasty regional cuisine and wood-fired pizza.

Jaworzyna Krynicka

Jaworzyna Krynicka also awaits ski and snowboard enthusiasts in Krynica-Zdrój, offering excellent conditions for winter sports—the snow cover lasts at least 4 and sometimes even 5 months a year. The slopes of Jaworzyna Krynicka feature 14 runs totalling almost 15 km, with varying difficulty; four of them have FIS homologation. The most difficult is black run no. 5, which starts halfway down run no. 1 and is intended for advanced skiers.

Skiers and snowboarders can reach the top by drag lift, chairlift or gondola. The resort is home to Poland’s most modern 6-person Jaworzyna Express chairlift, serving run no. 6. There is also a training run at the summit. The resort also boasts Poland’s longest floodlit run, measuring 2.6 km.

New attractions for the 2024/2025 winter season include a 900-metre skicross track, a forest ski run, a snowpark in the lower section of run no. 4 and a modern commercial centre housing a ski school office, sports shop, service and rental centre, plus storage with a drying room.
